IMPROTEX — Mohammedia

The IMPROTEX company was created in 1962 by the group of textile Alsatian Schaeffer to increase production capacities in shadowing of the company ICOMA which was already present to Mohammedia in the jobs by the shadowing, by the weaving and by the ennoblement since 1947. During this period indeed, the recession of the textile production in Europe benefited to the Moroccan companies of which ICOMA who, hardly of their competitive advantages in term of hand of cheap work and control of the production line were able to conquer numerous market shares on the local market. From the beginning, ICOMA and IMPROTEX companies had for main customers the units of industrial preparations, the craft clothing shops as well as the public administrations which bought to equip hospitals and various army corps. From the beginning of 1970s, the progressive departure of the Alsatian founders of the company pulled a marocanisation of the staff of companies ICOMA and IMPROTEX which ended in their repurchase in 1974 by families Mekouar et Benamour. Until 1969, no export had taken place, IMPROTEX and ICOMA companies contenting with selling their production on the local market.
